"The Mayan left us the keys in stone to cross the threshold of 2012 and receive the new sunrise of humankind"
Speaking of the “Ancient Mayans” is referring to the story of one of the most important pre-Columbian Mesoamerican cultures, because of its worldwide scientific and astronomical legacy. Unlike a widespread belief, the Mayan civilization never “disappeared”. At least, not completely, as their descendants still live in the region and many speak one of the family Mayan languages.

"In and around “Chichen Itza” lived thousands of people, mostly in houses with stone foundations, mud walls and palm leaf roofs. In the town center, near the temples, public buildings and the ball game courts, rulers lived in big houses of lime stone decorated with stucco figures. There were also large squares where people gathered on market days or when there was a public celebration. Life in “Chichen Itza” was very similar to other larges prehispanic cities like Teotihuacan and Chocula in the central highlands or Tajin and Monte Alban. There was a government system with great social differences. A minority group formed by priests, leaders and high rank warriors organized and controlled most of the activities (religion, economics, politics, education, etc.) so that they benefited the most of the goods and services".
